Fibrophos and slugs

We seem to be seeing this year that fibrophos has nailed our slugs. I’ve never heard this mentioned as a possible effect before, has anyone else seen it?

yes have seen this before, also noticed it with Kalfos this autumn

It will be the sulphur (again)

I've seen it over the last couple of years. Apply Fibrophos to a cotyledon osr crop and it will kill that too.

There was a thread on here about it last year. I had some spread on some stubble turnips, rather than doing it in the Spring as planned. Where we hadn't used slug pellets at drilling, I still had to go in and pellet, several times. From that experience, I certainly wouldn't want to rely on it as a control method.

It could be the sodium in the Fibrophos

Fibrophos can damage cotyledons, that's true. But You (or certainly I) wouldn't want to trample about on tiny OSR plants with a spreader anyway. Better to leave it until you have all oak leaf sized cover.

I have had farmers say they thought it helped, but I would say that control would be over egging the pudding a bit.
