85 percent I believe, I think this year with the problems that have arisen the merchants we're trying to get it reduced to allow them to supply...

Think c2 got reduced to 75% as there's none better, at least not grown as seed crop.


Heard earlier that a large farmer owned co-op could only source 5t of winter bean seed.

In a normal year min germ is 80%, this year a derogation has been approved where applied for by the seed producer down to 70%. Spring beans are still awaiting their derogation decision and will probably need it more than the winters looking at some of the samples I’ve seen!

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
