Filling rake / tedder tyres

some say take the tube out, some say leave it in, which gives the best results or dose it even matter?
i take it if its taken out you opt for a tubeless valve but do you seal the tire on the rim with the black paste or dose the sealer take care of that too?

tbh its something ive stayed clear of {sealer that is} and i dont get too many thorns in the tyres but id end up fixing 4 or 5 puncture every year between the tedder the rake and the baler.
once you go with sealer it leaves the tyre useless but is it a case of if you do use sealer youd never look back?

Tube out
Tubeless valve in
Rebuild wheel and tyre - whatever it takes to get it to inflate.
Gunk in
Occasionally top up with air (it loses a little every time before it seals itself
Use until tyre is worn out.

It's funny. Today I'm washing out the tyre gunk from a tubeless rake tyre and putting a tube in. Tyre and rim look to be in great condition but doesn't seem to want to stay inflated very long somehow. Quite surprised to see these little tyres with no tube really.

Got a few punctures lately on the Tedder but tyres have tubes will I need to go tubeless to use sealant or can I put it into tubes?
you should - if you have time, but if your in a hurry just wazz it in

The rims on my bale sledge tyres of softer than the tyres! When I got a puncture I couldn't take the tyre without destroying the wheel so I resorted to filling them with foam. worked a treat.

foam is ideal for bale sledges - they generally move slower and do less miles than a tedder would

IME

take wheel off / or jack it up to take any pressure off,
valve out
insert gunge
sometimes you need to clear the valve with the airline - make it go in quicker.
im tight so don't always use the quantities recommended, in fact I normally stop when I get board putting it in (which isn't very long)

its quite satisfying to see a little green secretion out of the tyre - knowing that the was in fact a hole and in a few seconds it will be no more !

ive uses the oko and other varients all seen ok, also its good for sealing perished tyers that leak or wont seat on the bead and hold air.

it keeps in the bottle too - I try and have one to hand, esp this time of year. also has potential for brownie points when used OH's flat wheel barrow tyre (or passing yummy mummys who get punctures in posh prams :sneaky::sneaky:)
