Yes but the annual charge for the trackers makes the saving negligible so we’re not bothering anymore. You get a discount by just datatag which is a one off cost.
Most Insurers will give some sort of discount for fitting of a tracker but in the overall scheme of things it will be negligible. Where the tracker can provide a huge benefit is that if by the stolen machine being quickly recovered makes the difference between a large insurance claim and a small one this will definitely have an effect on the premium you pay at next renewal.
The other important point is that if the tracker prevents a machine being stolen it means you have none of the down time and hassle involved in having to source a replacement machine potentially at a busy time plus you are not forced to put your hand in your pocket to add to Insurers pay-out in order to replace with newer machine.
Had a live link operative merrily telling me how good and accurate the positioning is on their units. So good in fact that when they directed the police to a signal they couldn't find the machine anywhere at the location until they looked behind a tree stump and found a little black box. Yeah, great.
