fitting wider wheels to tanker

ok so thinking of putting a set of 66 43 25 onto a 1300 gallon tanker we have here for close yard work, and possibly to stay in the field as a field tanker if we end up doing it and then buying a boom tanker. open to suggestions on other sizes but most want to know what wideth a noremal 2000 gallon griund drive is and how high it is, if we go ahead with this it might become a ground drive at later date.

will take any advice going or any questions u have

Hope we don't get the weather you are expecting! :D
Not sure on height but ideally you would want it around 10ft wide, used to use a field tanker that was nearly 11' and it was a nightmare to get in gates and use on the road. If you want it to hold 1300 after recessing, it'll need to be at least 1600 to start with

it is a 1300, not worried if it only held 1000 when finished but take some time to work out how to mark it up for recessing. was thinking if it ended up 11ft max I could work alright but don't want too high.

Ground drives are usually on 71/47x25 so you'll save a bit of width and height with 66/43x25. I'd say the 1600 Redrock ground drive I used to spread with was nearly 10ft wide, there wasn't much between the tyres.

would 30.5 r32 be much of an advantage or would I be better going all out for a the before mentioned, wont be on road only to move to other yard, there is a possibility of a bigger tanker being bought but its more so for earlier and later times I would be lining this up. that is why I'm not put off by going 11foot but less ideally if it wouldn't get too high, it is a standard 5ft diameter barrel, wider would be a benefit on some of our ground here, provided there isn't to much floatation and it slides

Used 30.5 r32's on a 2600gal tanker, roll easily over ground and grip well going across slopes, but a bit on the high side if you're on steep ground.

well could be a 390 or simiar, might get twins fitted as we have them, also other thing with 30.5 or 800/65 is they will fit rims and all straight to the valmet if need be for another job.

seen a few tankers in fintona 1300 with recessed 28.1r26 and they looked ok for ground carrying ability, just 30.5 be nicer. going off terra now as they would be too much work for possibly very little extra reward

Would having a tanker with a raingun and a couple of lengths of umbilical hose be a better option? Make a spreader plate out of a tanker splash plate and use the raingun to pump beings your going to have to buy a boom tanker anyway

yard tanker is the idea. we have 3 separate farms here with land around them. umbilical would be the best but a two man job when mostly it is only me. as long as it relives the pressure in spring around these farms the rest can be spread to further land with other tanker. boom tanker would be next as we wouls also need a bigger tanker to speed up spreading but unknown future and this will be a big help and cheaper.

Ah yea I do pump from the tanker on my own using a controller you text to rev tractor up but you do have to do a lot of walking back and too, gets rid of sh!t when you can’t travel tho(y)

its still an option here as the sludge pump will pump 200metres or so I was told and fill with the mixing pump, have two mixing pumps that ca fill this. only thing I might have to sort out yet is wider wheels for the tractor pulling it but I generally have ground to carry it but not the tanker, could be the other way around now, don't want to have twin wheels fitted to one tractor for long

that's my thoughts, one farm is 2-3 acre fields, great for management of cattle but not for machines, slurry here can be thick too. it is just under 10foot wide so think it will be handy enough, its only 1300 gallon

I seen it but other tanker is 1350 galvanised and don't want to weld to it, I recon if I go that route soon I would rather a 2500 or so tandum axle as to make better use of time in dry weather to draw to far away land, also fill the buggy twice in one trip if need be.
