Fodder Kale going to seed

I don't know about Kale, but grazed stubble turnips that have bolted and going to flower plenty of times without problem. They go stemmy and the feed value drops, but no harmful effects that I've seen.

Would Kale be similar?
 
no side effects as far as i'm aware, it's normally at the other end of the season when you get trouble from grazing crops when they're still immature (rape scald, etc etc).

They'll waste a lot more though, as the stems go woody pretty rapidly. You'll probably need to flail them off before you cultivate for the next crop...all good organic matter I suppose!

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
