but apart from the weather all that went into growing the bulb has not been used as feed for the sheep anyway ,it will go back in when its ploughed but that's not quite what we grew it for.
and by its nature stubble turnip top is far smaller than redstart all other things being equal.
Cattle will eat every bit , I had it one year, sowed to early grazed to late, was a massive crop but went woody , sheep left it but cows ate every bit , that was Vollenda

lot of Frisia disappointingly lying on the deck (im not surprised tbh was half expecting it ) untouched, poor anchorage , Hobsons alright for a simple rape. but im going to say Redstart wins again for me. even with their stumps left ,better feed value more palatable more disease resistant better overall.
ill get a pic if i remember.
another kind winter again though , hardly any frost (so far ) .well there we are.
Not sure where Frisia gets its winter hardy score from . Tried it twice, seriously let down twice. Samson st wins for me every time. Still got 3 acres to eat off yet by twin/triplet ewes, loads of tops and huge bulbs. Size 4 rugby ball

You’d have harsher weather than us down here in the midlands, hardly had any frost really, found frisia to be high yielding though, first time trying it, will be trying it again! Just luck I suppose
