Ford 4600 wiring

I was just wondering if anyone know which wire is what on the multi pin plug that connects to the wiper switch as none of the colours match those on the wiring diagram I have in a manual, a local firm is getting one for us but with the problems caused by Operation Stack still haven't got it in so I have got a generic switch that would fit with spade terminals but I can't find which is the feed, park, low speed and high speed wires. The colours to the plug are blue-green, yellow-green, red-green, black-green, white-green, green with an orange band at the end and lastly a plain green wire.

Also I wonder if anyone had any recommendations on where I might get an AP cab roof for a Ford 6610 and a wiper motor for it as the roof has become more like a sieve especially around the sunroof in it and I believe the motor has gone as I have tried a different rocker switch in it but it just blows the fuse the same as the original.

Thanks for an help

As far as the roof goes,
Try Boland tractors
Robert Wraight
Stamford tractors seem to have a few bits.
Don't know much about the wiring on the 46, what cab is it? Q, Fieco, Lambourn??

No park wire on the switch? The power feed that parks the motor goes straight to the motor, only thing that will switch this feed off, is the ignition switch.
Have you any numbers on the switch terminals, 15, 30, etc?
You will have to find the power wire (test bulb or meter), don't forget to switch the ignition on before testing. If you cant find power, check the fuses.

If you can post a picture of the switch contacts or a link to one the same on E-Bay

This is one of the old switch which is from a Q cab, hopefully Colin at Robert Wraight will be able to get one in soon so I can just keep the one I have as a spare but he has been having trouble all summer arranging part deliveries because of Operation Stack and so as it is a sod to see out of when it rains I did find a generic one which is is sold as a self park wiper switch with the terminals B, P, L and H with B-P=0 B-L=1 and B-H=2 so I presumed the P terminal stood for Park. http://www.durite.co.uk/ItemDetails...mber=064650&SingleResultCriteria=&catid=53616

Also I asked Colin about an AP cab roof but when I was last in there but he said they hadn't broken any ones like that for a number of years but I will have to give the others a try.

Thank you for the help it is much appreciated

Ok I see what you mean ........
Best to get the correct switch and just plug it in

But if you want to make that one work .....................

Be careful and don't hit the power (feed) on the tin-work or you will blow the wiper fuse. Which wont be the end of the world, but if there is no fuse in the circuit, the wires will melt (a short).

Did you find the power wire, with a test bulb?
When you do find it, connect it to the B terminal on the switch.
With ignition switched on:
With the wiper switch in the slow position (first notch) tip each wire on the L terminal until you get the motor to move in slow speed. Then go another notch into the fast position and tip each wire on the H terminal until you get the motor moving in the fast speed.
While testing always connect, ready to disconnect if you need to, don't push on, only tip together.
That should give you wipers, all you need to do now is find the park wire, if indeed it goes through the switch, connect it to the P terminal.
Finding the park wire:
Turn the wipers switch off, mid way over the screen. Tip each remaining wire on the P terminal until the wiper power up and parks itself to one side.

If you are not comfortable with wiring, read over this a few times and if you need a hand ask someone, so you don't get stuck.
Ask away if we can help with anything ..........
