Ford 4630 clutch arm

Just looking for a bit of advice. I’m just got a hold of a ford 4630. It’s a little rough and quite a few bits are seized. Including the lift arms. But I’ll come back to those another day.

The tractor drive grand no bother but the clutch arm seams to pivot in the centre with the clutch cable at the bottom and the another bar attached to the top which has been disconnected. When I re attach it the arm won’t go back enough to disengage the clutch. I believe the top bar has seized that’s why it’s been removed. Is this the clutch to the PTO ?

I’ve attached a picture of the bottom part of the arm I can’t find a picture of the top.

That is the main drive clutch nothing to do with pto which is hyd driven, i am at a loss about another rod, the main pivot shaft which the cable is attached is for clutch release bearing in the bellhousing, if you can take photo or draw what this other rod look's like.. .

I’ll try and get a picture of it tomorrow I’m at a loss with it. Where the clutch cable is attached to the clutch arm parallel to that is another bar so when you push the clutch on it pulls the cable at the bottom back which in turn pulls the other bar at the top forward.

Well that looks like you've got the old mechanical clutch pedal linkage above and newer cable control below..:scratchhead:

Edit, the disconnected rod isn't a safety thing to prevent starting in gear maybe ?🤷‍♂️

I’m lost in it to be honest never seen a set up like that. All I know is then the rod is connected the clutch arm won’t go back far enough to disengage the clutch. I’m going around it today as there seams to be a lot of things seized on it. The hydraulic arm control in the cab won’t budge at all the the throttle work together instead of independent. Lots to do on her

Just an update. The rod that has been disconnected is a interlocking mechanism. I’m assuming this stop you from changing gear with out using the clutch. Been that it’s all the way forward and not conected I don’t belive It has any other function.

I remember now that is a safety mechanism if you check you will find a switch that should be in contact with the rod so if it's in gear you cannot start engine unless foot is on clutch, it is adjustable, and on a plate on left side so easy to get to...
