FORD 6600 RESTORATION

Somethings not right there!!! Is the locking plate still on the bolt head that holds the halfshaft in? The stub shaft usually rest against the plate. Seen them ‘lost’ during assembling and finding their way through the epicyclics when driving off resulting in burst trumpet housings!!!

You will need to have another look.
The disk cluster may not be in the correct position sitting to far out in the trumpet or the retaining bolts are tightened up incorrectly.
Just take it down again and double check as you go.
Double check there isn't anything lying in the bottom of the trumpet housing.

Hi can anyone help when taking the half axle off to do the seal and brakes I was pulling all the old oil with my hand out and I found this pin in the oil

It looks like a handle from a set of pullers we have.
But both ends have grooves, I think?
The groove just holds the fancy bit on the end.
I'll measure the size later ............
