Ford 8240 lift arms dropping..

Got a Ford 8240 with electronic draft control and the lift arms are dropping over time.. thinking an internal leak or control valve leak.. anyone had a similar issue.. thanks

Yes could be piston seal's [same as 8210] or check valve in electronic control valve, if you do dismantle this be very careful to make sure parts go back on the side you took them off as they are set at factory, can send you copy of this valve if req.

Any tractor unless new will drop lift arms, but i assume the originator of this problem is concerned enough to mention it, if lift arms drop right down overnight without any implement then there is something wrong, all of the Ford tractors with a problem have sign's of score's in piston bore which could be improved by honing and fitting new seal's, when the 40ser were fitted with edc there were less mechanical parts to cause a leakage, if you have a 40ser with external service valve [deleted on later models] turning this off with lift arms raised will show if leak is internal or not ...
