Last October the US patent office allowed the "right to repair" movement the right to hack into JDs' repair system.

Its' been a long running battle but I understand JD cannot now prevent access............I will admit to not knowing all the nuances someone else may have the skinny on the details.
regards.
Thanks Roger, I was unaware of this. I know one of Donalds favourite issues, and may be quite right for some points, is the copying and exploitation of intelectual property when it comes to manufactured goods from the USA.

There is a farm saved seed system operating in France but it works differently from the UK system. The French system is an end point levy on harvested grain with rebates for users of certified seed. It works like this.

Surely current rates are something like £48 pound processing or £8.90 / Ha levy
Whereas French appears to be £26 and possibly £6.50 / Ha on a 10 tonne crop
Or am I reading it wrong

I think Roger is a bit wishful in his thinking. Go to Agtalk or one of the bigger US ag forums and ask the question about farming with electronics. You will not find anyone that has found a way to go around computer problems on equipment.

Blaming Electrification of cars too.
Who buys them?
Subsidy taken off them and 30-40k minimum.

What? Why? The rise of the electric car has fudge all to do with it. Every manufacturer is scrambling after the technology. The fact is, the move toward using electric motors will make entire factories worth nothing but scrap because engines just won't be manufactured any longer. Electric motors can be bought off the shelf to order from a myriad of suppliers- they are a mature established technology.

Ford have lost the plot anyway now. Who here, on this forum, owns a Ford or Vauxhall or would consider buying one of these new?
