Ford Wildtrak 2.0l Auto

Has anyone bought a Ford Wildtrak 2.0l Auto . The engine has more power and torque than the 3.2l but does it drive and tow as well as the salesman says
I am looking from opions from people who actually drive one

The 2.0 has a very tough act to follow because the 3.2 is very very good. Especially coupled to the auto box.

Can't comment on auto because I've bought a manual. And I've not done a lot of towing with it yet but the little I have done it pulled my bigger skid steer every bit was well as my discovery 3 did. Probably travelled better because the draw bar is much higher.

The 2l engine and gear boxes are nothing new either because they are the same as in transits are they not?

So I wouldn't be so worried by the engines or gearboxes

Just remember that there are 2 versions of the 2L engine in the new Ranger. The OP's Wildtrack and Raptor use the 210hp Bi-turbo, the lower spec variants use the 173hp single turbo (iirc).

And many cars, the Edge uses these 2 engines, and has done for while now, also now in the Galaxy and Smax

I had about an hour's test drive in the 2.0 twin turbo ten speed auto Wildtrak the other day. I was mightily impressed. The engine is very powerful and has no apparent flat spots and is relatively quiet. The cabin is very quiet with almost zero road noise. The suspension is controlled well but is more supple than my current 2.2. The transmission is a great step forward with seamless changes and it was always in the right ratio. The instruments, controls and infotainment are another leap forwards.

All in all it doesn't make much sense to buy a Defender for just about double the money of this Ranger [after VAT refund for the pickup] when the Ranger is so well equipped and comfortable. Plus the road tax, insurance and income tax savings for the pickup make it even more attractive.

I bet long-term the little engine will be crap and every body will be looking for a 3.2. the manufacturer who keeps making a 3lt+ reliable engine will be on a winner in a working vehicle.

I was overtaken today by a Amarok 3litre V6 258 ps, like i was standing still - that thing has some poke

We got a new Ranger Wildtrack 2l 213hp in early September. Had new injectors at 950 miles. 2500 miles now and goes well. 10 speed automatic. Averaging 29mpg. Very good on or off road. My son and I both love driving it.

i Had a go in the 2.0l 213 bhp 10sp auto Widtrack and liked it, But it costs £3740 more than a Navara Techna auto which has 5 year 100k waranty instead of 3year 60k of the Ford

Had a test drive of the new 10 speed. I would agree with what the duck said. Didn’t tow with it but was very nice, little to no hesitation choosing a gear even when flooring it. Knew exactly what gear to drop to.
