Free testing for first season grazing sheep or calves

Farming Online and the University of Liverpool are currently developing a Liver Fluke Early Detection App which will enable a user to feed in a location postcode and feed out a liver-fluke forecast for your farm.

To help with our research we are offering free tests for first season grazing sheep or calves.

Ideally take bloods from 10 first season grazing lambs/calves. It doesn’t matter if they are not housed yet. We can detect antibodies 2-4 weeks after infection, so it is a good indication of when infection is occurring.

All you need to do is to arrange and pay your vet to come and collect the samples and send them in to us.The actual testing would be free.

If you would like to take up the offer or want more information email [email protected] and we will send you further details and a submission form to send with the samples.

We are also looking for farmers to provide practical feedback on our newly developed prototype and vitally on the final version, due out later in the year.
