Sacre bleu!Fudge sacre!
I will stop charging rent on the house we own, if my landlords on the farm , allow me not to pay their rent. That’s fair isn’t it @glasshouseThe french have cancelled all rent, mortgage and utility bills for three months

Depends on your conscienceI will stop charging rent on the house we own, if my landlords on the farm , allow me not to pay their rent. That’s fair isn’t it @glasshouse
What if you rely on rent to pay your bills. Can a landlord claim a grant from the government .Depends on your conscience
The french have imposed a fair solution to all

Are you still getting paidI rent I would expect my landlord to at least offer
Fair to all will depend on who funds this measure...! Are the government going to compensate landlords, banks and utility services?Depends on your conscience

Exactly this. If tenants are still getting paid, even if working from home, then rent should still be paid .Fair to all will depend on who funds this measure...! Are the government going to compensate landlords, banks and utility services?
I’ve been trying to get rid of problem tenants since October. I’m not sure now whether I’ll ever see the back of them.
And how long are they going to continue?Council tax is my dislike,£150 a month for a weekly dustbin collection !!

I’d be sympathetic if tenants are laid of or off sick.
Do you mean getting a break from a mortgage .Yes and I have no problem with paying it. What I dont want is my landlord taking the pee getting a break and expect me to keep paying him and then passing the rent on to the next person

Although I agree I sort of don’t. Your landlord has worked hard, saved , scrimped etc etc to get to that position why shouldn’t he be in line to receive good fortune. I would 100% agree to viewing the situation very differently if the person was laid off or on sick.Yes and I have no problem with paying it. 4.5 months is plenty of time to serve notice and go to court. It shouldn't be that difficult unless you are within a contracted term. But you have no chance now.
In fact I expect the government will suspend Section 8s and 21s.
