I wondered about capping, it will suit the biggest landowners like it has in the past. So if you put some shiny new handling pens in for cattle say that makes them less stressed will you get an ongoing payment or is it a one off to pay for the kit ?
In theory big farmers & estates owners who have control over their land will potentially fit the criteria to make biggest claims as to your remarks about handling pens , they'd only get used once for loading your cattle up to go to the abattoir before rebuilding your farm

I suppose what we all really want to know is
A) is it income foregone.
B) will there be enough incentives in the environmental proposals that we will end up not losing significant turnover from our farm businesses in the future.
C) when is elms going to be published.

I'm still young enough to be willing to try new methods, but I'm also experienced enough to know that new methods don't always work and, sometimes, the old methods were used for a reason.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
