For Cereals and Beans single shallow pass of a Kuhn Optimer or Kockerling allrounder - 4ltr/ha
Horsch Sprinter to drill at around 5ltr/ha
Drill can vary between 4 - 6ltrs depending on how steep each field is !!

Rolls around 2ltr/ha, again depends on how steep the field is and how firm the soil is
OSR and CC drilled direct

Todays drilling, ex OSR on a rolling field

That’s pretty damn efficient !!

I guess you have big acreages to go at ?
Our average field size is about 5 acres !! 🤦‍♂️ And nearly all of it has some gradient 😳

I was quite happy with my 10lit per ha till I saw your post 😊😊

flat, open, no fences, farming about 800 ha in 7 fields . . .
heavy black alluvial clays on a floodplain

long term ( 30 years + ) zero till / full stubble retention.
Disc planters, only running from say 40 - 75 mm deep

hydraulics to run air seeder & vacuum fans are quite a significant draw in hp, actual draught requirements are relatively minimal

At the other end of the scale...used about 2000 LTRs, to plough, power harrow, two passes, and lime 100 acres of permanent pasture in the spring, smallest field was 2 acres. 20 LTRs an acre, the drilling, fertilizer spreading and rolling was extra.

Compared to a 3m drill. Field sizes between 2-30 acres. Some hills, 140hp and a disc drill.

a bit off topic but what gives the clay it's black colour? volcanic ash?

This autumn
notill drill 300 hp 9 m. 4 l per ha on a 260 hp same
rolling 1 l per ha when needed

only other cultivations is mole drainage every 4 years 3 ha per hr at 55l per hr

with combineing 10 l per ha average corn carting depends on distance from store 3 l per ha wheat less for other crops
