Yeah, I went the other way last year - when 2nd hand prices were good. Second car was £300 insurance, £200 tax & £50 MOT, before repairs. That’s a lot of miles needed to do at a 20mpg delta over the Landy before you start “saving”.
That’s right, I wanted another vehicle to save my pickup as we use it more as a car and will put this panda onto limited use so less fixed costs but the sums don’t stack up on their own but still alot cheaper than a gator and warmer than a bike.

30k between them ish but that’s two of us. I used to do 20-25k in landrover alone but things have had to change every journey has to be worthwhile. Some jobs get done every other day now.
30k miles at 25mpg costs about £10k in fuel. If you did 10k at 50mpg instead you’d save 400 litres - I’m not sure that’s worth it unless the third vehicle would be handy for other reasons too.
