Bad day to order fuel it's flying up

Quotes today ranged from

Red Diesel 2000L 47.98 - 49.98ppl
Kero 1200L 36.88 - 39.97ppl

All blamed on Texas flooding. What happened to all the shale oil in the US?

Just been quoted 54ppl :(

I said yes as I can see the bottom of the tank but it'll be here early next week - lesson learned to check it more regularly and not last thing on a Friday :banghead:

Someone's lifting your leg there. How many quotes do you normally get?
Having said that I struggled to get my order before Tuesday delivery. I'm ok for red but will be out of Kero on Sunday. Must get a bigger dryer tank, can only hold 1600L max.

MVF Plus.

Like I said, pushed for time and I know i'm going to need it PDQ. I wont do it again.

I'll do some more ringing around on Monday and cancel if needs be. It'll be a profitable cup of tea if I get it 5ppl off.

If short on time, might be worth trying Yagro. I normally find ringing round is more competitive, but I'm sure they'd do you a better price than 54ppl.

Said on the radio today it was unleaded that was shooting up due to shortage of it in the US with refineries down.
Apparently going to be dearer on our forcourts than diesel by next week.

Somebody seeing it as just a price hiking opportunity if they are charging 54ppl for red.

Ross, phone around and develop relationships with some direct suppliers. I find that MVF are never competitive. They have to take a fuel supplier price and add their margin although I ring them for a price can't remember last time I ordered with them.
You have some keen suppliers down west. Good luck.

Well if Mole Valley are meant to be working on members behalf then this example of their fuel pricing is frankly most disappointing. As I stated I find I can always do better than them. Perhaps the MVF Cornish Board member, Mr Stephen Bone, should take this example up. I'm sure you know him @Rossymons ;)

The name sounds familiar yes...:whistle::whistle:

Ive found MVF to be quite useful for feed, fert and (until recently) fuel.

Their website is quite useful for prices too but they have been beaten a fair bit lately.

I bought a 5000l water tank back in the summer and could have nearly bought 2 for the saving.
