What’s the additive you refer to for the heating oil?
What are the benefits of it?

Don't know what it is but it is used for Rayburns, Aga's etc.
Certainly seems to make my Rayburn burn cleaner and does not soot/carbon up so quickly and can go about 18 months now between services. Was recommended to me by the person who services my Rayburn.

Probably something like Exocet cooker additive. My supplier last year wanted an extra 1.5ppl for the additive. Managed to buy a litre of it on ebay, works out at just a smidge over a penny a litre. Just need to remember to put it in before the tanker turns up.

had the fuel pumps go on 2 boilers here , 1 at 6 months old and the other at about 2 years , plumber advised to put some additive in , when speaking to the driver when delivering the fuel his own ideas on the problem was the newer pumps were built to a tighter tolerance , have another boiler over 10 years old same make never had a problem
