Hi, I need to replace the sender unit, is it possible to do this with the q cab in place? all tips welcome!!

just take the dash out, blown the rubbish out with air line maybe, undo the tabbed ring or maybe screws depending and go steady - turn sender a few different ways round as you lift it out. You will loose some skin maybe.

Fit a new sealing ring

Check the wiring loom is not rubbed through on the top of the tank

Could well only be the float needs replacing,sprung a leak and sunk to the bottom,still need to take the whole thing out tho.

Before starting to rip out, I'd connect the sender wire to the tank body/earth, see if the needle goes to full with the key switched ON. Don't leave it connected for any length of time, just watch it as you turn the key ON. We never had the pleasure of taking a tank sender out, let us know how it goes ..............

far easier to get out than i first thought.
