700 million litres? they are running profitably now, but always going to be a worrying future. would be boring with arla knowing they will never go under, with first milk its exciting, will they go bust will they keep going. its the small things

I might have misunderstood what we were told this week but I was pleased to hear that despite some of the gloom merchants on TFF the volume of milk processed by FM has not fallen over the last 12 months and the vast majority of resignations are withdrawn.

I think you have been misled @PREES volumes are well down in Scotland and Cumbria, many cows have been inside since August with poor quality silage, so someone is telling Porkies

FM are buying at least 10% of the milk they need in !!

My sister popped in yesterday for a coffee and the Council blurb was lying on the table, she picked it up and started to read it, and shouted Roseneath I was up there last year with my in laws for a week at a caravan park. They went for a walk one night with the dog and he took off after a rabbit they thought, into the farm when they did catch him it was a huge rat and there were hundreds of them and a lot of them were the size of rabbits and the farm was a mess.
So it just goes to show paper will take on anything even bullpoo.

Well, that's one candidate 'dissed. Any further disclosures?
For my bit, I have been to most local meetings over the past few years and wasn't aware we had an "unofficial spokesperson". And the one I would have chosen ( if we had) did a moonlight flit twelve months ago!

That's the trouble with unofficial spokespersons, you don't know about them, so they have to become official. I think that was the one who started working for m&s in 1067. Seems a long time to me. Think I might have proof read my election propaganda a bit better.

I'm afraid you are totally wrong as I checked my facts today and it was confirmed that the total volume of milk has not fallen at all. Scottish volumes might have fallen but they have been matched by greater production in other regions. They have always bought in milk when and where they can make a margin on it so there nothing new there!
FM have certainly been in a bad place as a result of some poor management at a variety of levels but lets recognise that we now have a different organisation which is now competitive. The last thing we should be doing is spreading misinformed, inaccurate rumours that will simply undermine confidence just when the business is improving (at last!)

It would seem like you are on the Council @PREES or Mike, everyone just wants the truth, but for the last 2 no maybe 3 years good communication and the truth have been the last thing on FM leaders minds and if FM want to rebuild trust get communicating with members lets here more about OUR business, we all own it not just the guys at the top.

I am certainly NOT on the council but I agree that the priority for FM AFTER ensuring they can pay the highest possible price to their MEMBERS (emphasis on members not suppliers) must be accurate, truthful and regular communication.

where have u been all my life! all the slating fm has been getting on this where were u! was the meeting positive? the board have looked at tff and are considering a first milk forum to improve their communications, I personally think first milk will be fine, us personally have only been getting a poor price over the summer cos of our fat and protein, but its up to 4 fat and 3.3 protein so we should be on 30 pence this month
