1.697 million ha of wheat is the area they report
not a chance that will get planted

that may have been the planned area in September

the uk will need a lot of dry weather to get to 1.5 million ha
the survey on the forum gives a 20% still to plant in planned area 340000 ha
assuming the free draining land gets planted
a reduction of 200000 ha is a good guess
plenty of farmers are looking into Sfi for unplanted ground
I do not personally know any one who is 100% planted
plenty have some planted area that needs a dry winter to make it to harvest

remember 2022 was a dry early autumn which helped get to 1.72 million ha
that was predicted to be over 1.8 million
and down graded to 1.72 million after harvest

in 2020 2012 and the early 2000s the areas were downgraded after wet Autumn and winters

There have been wet autumns that eventually get planted but with 11 inches in 8 weeks 2023 will not be one
