looks like there is more and more of this happening at moment mainly greenstar.Does anyone no if they are taking GS4 screens or just 2630 and so on.

Its definitely something to be mindful of when choosing a factory/fully integrated GPS vs either an aftermarket Topcon/Trimble or a GreenStar.

The latter are much easier too move about, but if are if RTK unlocked can be a £10K "please come and nick me" target left in a field or yard.

They all should be lock coded like mobile phones

...errr guys phones by their nature are connected to a network - they are two-way communications devices.

Can someone explain to me how you would go about remotely disabling a GPS receiver? Some very heavy fettling of both correction infrastructure and receivers would be needed.

Manufacturers are just happy for you to claim on NFU and flog you a new 10K tit.

Thanks for the tag. I had a 2630 screen and 3 receivers nicked. The link takes you to the thread.

JD are still the winners out of this. They get Greenstar into new markets and get to sell new replacements over here.

Security facilities are under serious review here!

Its quite easily removed. They just cut a hole in roof lining. Contractor i know had his stolen. Took the brain out his lemken drill that was on back too. Obviously knew what they were doing.
You cut a hole in the roof lining of any Fendt built since 2011, you're faced with a steel plate, with around 12 small bolts, you then have to undo all those and undo the fixing of the receiver from the steel plate. It's quite fiddly. Also you'd have a job removing a VarioTerminal from the armrest.

By comparison removing a Starfire receiver is a walk in the park.
