with a little impact driver and the correct size socket and torx bit. I used to be able to get the receiver out of a fendt in less than 3mins. So it doesn't really protect it.

You’d be the fastest gun in the east. I guess if you’re at them day in and out, you get quite good at it.

Still I’m not sure most pikeys carry electric screwdrivers and torx bits. Maybe they do. I suppose you could change the screw types to be security types to make their life a bit harder, as they fumble their way through the box to find the right tip. Meh they'd probably get the cordless grinder out with a slit disc.

Still reckon Starfire units are waaay easier to ahem ‘acquire’.

Have you seen the clips doing the rounds of people stealing cats off cars, middle of the day, less than a couple of minuites and their gone. If they want it they will have it.

And it is not just GPS stuff all parts a being taken i know of 3 complete knotter stacks gone recently from big balers
Local to here a car parked on the house drive one night had 2 front doors, 2 front wings, bonnet, all gone all on camera less than an hour
Another farm had all the wheels taken from a large tractor one night
Just make shore you are well insured as some of these machines will be written off because of the salvage value
A lot of that goes east
It make GPS look cheap
Many years ago we had a complete engine from a TF46 taken one night it was in a field

GPS theft is definitely on the rise!
As stated above make sure to list any GPS equipment on your farm business policy as a specified item under contents/All Risks section. I am working with a large farming group at the moment on security for GPS equipment and if anyone is interested in finding out more about I am more than happy to put you in touch with the manufacturer so that they can tell you more about our plans. Just drop me a message.
The other I recommend is sharing crime data - groups are popping up all over the place within local communities and they work directly with the police. Even if it does not get your equipment back at least it alerts others to what is happening so they can take preventative measures and helps the police build up a picture of what is happening etc.
I work with the Cambridgeshire Countryside Watch and they have done wonders within the Cambridgeshire area. There must be other such groups around.
