Having a wife, whose family were Scots and lots of relatives and friends from up that way, I see a rather different scenario than you. The GE in June will rather interesting.

There is a possibility that the Conservatives could take a few seats in Scotland as Ruth Davidson is quite a charismatic leader. It is almost impossible for the SNP to do better as they already have virtually a full house, so any loss the SNP have will be reported by the press as a major defeat for independence and Scottish support for Brexit.

Well, you can certainly trust the press to make an issue of it. That is the norm. But if the Tories take a lot of seats, I think that NS will have to rethink her game plan. Ruth Davidson is a good debater and certainly enthusiastic.

Exciting times and we will have to wait until the GE results are announced.

But Britain by and large really isn't like that. There have always been bad areas - just as there are in all countries. I suspect - and as jobs relocate abroad with the help of EU funding, these are bound to get worse. But as a whole, it isn't a Britain I recognise.

Why is it those who have left Britain (or certain persons who live in Ireland) are the most gloomy about Britain's future, to the extent, sometimes of even seeming angry about it? Apart from your ex-pat status in the case of those that have left - which really is dependant on the good grace of the country of your choice - it isn't something that you need to get worked up about, especially if we aren't.

This question has been asked so many times it gets boring. But, once again, for myself, just becaus I left the UK, it doesn't mean I stop caring for the welfare of the family I have still living there.

For your information, the drug gang battle I witnessed just last December was in a village called Foxton in liecs. A famous place for its long run if locks and little used lift. Look it up if you like, it's just about leixesteshires main tourist attraction.
Like you I was surprised that such activities had spread out into the wealthy countryside. All my old friend, when I mentioned it just came out with "oh, well that's normal now"

And there is no drug or gang problem in France? All is peace and tranquility? Not quite as I recall it when I was in St. Malo last year.

People hold different opinions about how Brexit will play out and whether it'll be good or bad for whomever. Describing them as gloomy or angry is dismissing their opinions rather than attempting a grown up discussion about the matter. People of the other opinion may be described as dreamers or fatally optimistic but that would be sinking to the same level. No one has a crystal ball, just opinions based on their experiences events to date.

After the revolution everything will be different. Not better, just different.

Actually, you are incorrect. I have a crystal ball, which I bought on eBay. So far, both the crystal ball and my own forecasts have done somewhat better than any of the polls. Check out my track record over the last 18 months. My crystal ball and I have pulled in over a grand on small wagers since the beginning of June, 2016.

Revolution - I very much doubt it.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

To be more serious! There are no Remainers! Only those who voted to Remain last June, 2016.

We are now all Leavers, like it or leave it (no pun intended).

Article 50 has been invoked and the clock is ticking. Time for everyone to get behind our PM. Everyone wants the best deal possible, so it's time to stop whinging, complaining and moaning. Onwards and upwards.
