I only really look at US proofs these days because they seem to be the most accurate by a long way. I don’t really waste my time with other country proofs anymore apart from a casual look.

Ex genomic and now proven bulls have held up very well. Health traits of the breed have moved forward massively.
USA Canada and Uk all the same database Clay

I don’t have a picture of the idea cow. My ideal cow comes about by what she does not what she looks like.

Give me a feed efficient, high solids production cow that gets pregnant and causes zero problems.
Fair enough.
Pretty much what I'd want apart from not being too big to fit in my cubicles and milking parlour and sink too deep in Pembrokeshire mud!

Index is unique numbers are as one.

The genetic databases may be the same but they are interpreted differently by each countries genomic index. As shown by how you can have bulls ranking differently for a single trait in different countries.

Like I said. I’m happy with the US index, it’s the most used index in the world with the largest numbers of animals proven in it and US genomic proofs are matching proven proofs very well.

Not that it matters but the individual populations are different. I take it your a net merit man

AI companies used to buy bulls on "judgement" now it's "genomics" it will be interesting to see where they sit in the league tables when they are proven.
I think the idea with genomics is that every year a new super bull will come through, you don't need to wait 5 years to get a proof on the daughters anymore.
I am yet to be convinced of this though
