Giff Gaff

Anybody using the above for their mobile . "Three" just texted me to say that they're allowed (?) to increase my monthly payments by 2.7 % . from Apl. 1 . Not bliddy likely they aren't , I've a asked them for a migration code , and I'm contemplating using Giff Gaff sim only . Any comments on that . I've tried to contact "O2" and"Vodafone" this afternoon , but getting through to them is as bad , or worse than getting through to any of the service industries , with their web sites looping back to the starting point , and the on line chat simply blacking out . Any recommendations . I should say that I've been thinking of ditching "Three" for a time , as I'm fed up to the back teeth with their notifications and text messages constantly coming through .

I just switched from Three to GiffGaff, no regrets.
Switch was due to appalling signal at my new place, was OK to start with but gone totally downhill.
Downside to GiffGaff is there is no telephone support, it is online through their community. Don't really see it as an issue because I rarely called Three and they were no great help when I did.
Upside is it is a monthly contract that you can upgrade or downgrade whenever you like.
If my signal was OK I think I would have stayed with Three, not least because when I went to Australia I could just use my mobile exactly as if I was at home. Probably not much of a bonus for the foreseeable!
I hardly ever got messages or texts from them, you can opt out of them. I think it even says how at the end of the message, something like text the word optout to the number given.

Thanks Mr. Kidds . Some time back (when I was able) I also would have kept to Three for roaming , but , quite apart from this self isolating thing , I doubt very much I'll be going anywhere far,now , or in the future . I never got even remotely near my "allowances " - neither minutes nor data . In any case as I read it Giff Gaff give me more for less ! So I think that's what I'll do - I'm well out of contract with Three , and I think I have enough confidence to accept a 12 month contract now ! I've got a migration code , so I'll let you know how it goes .

Got 4 phones on giffgaff as it was miles cheaper than Anglian Farmers bulk buy rate.
No problems, son has moved his to voxi as they do an unlimited social media package.

Swapped from o2 to giffgaff. No problems. Took half a day to port my number.

As others have said monthly contract.

If you pm me your details i can send you a free giffgaff sim. They send them to customers for you to give to friends.

Only ever had Giffgaff, sim only. They use O2 network. I pay eight pounds a month but you can have other options as low as five pounds. I don’t use much mobile data and had no problems with them.

Thanks all, Giffgaff Sim ordered (£8.00 monthly) and reported as "on it's way " . I have a migration code from Three , so it's all in hand and presumably I'll be up 'n' running soon . Good to read all the positive responses though !

Excellent Giffgaff service . Sim arrived today a.m. Card in phone and up 'n ' running "dreckly" (as G IN G would say . ATM using new number , Old number transferred as of 2 nd, Apl. tomorrow , with a possible "timeout " of a few minutes for the transfer . Can't fault that , so we'll see how we go from here . TBF , "3" have given me a code without demur , true enough , I think it's a legal obligation to do so , but that doesn't always work !

just a heads up on my on going Giffgaff story . I have to give them full marks for the service , everything they said the'd do , they've done , and speedily too . They said they would be transferring my number this a.m. -- they did and I was fully on song before mid day !. I've taken a few calls , and made a few , all without problems . I'm happy at that .

My data use has increased lately for various reasons which has made my allowance run out.
Just go on their website and start next months straight away, can also move up to next package at same time.

Missus on Three has used hers too so upgraded, will be working in two weeks time. That’s a bit rubbish!

Well, I'm fairly set up with changing my phone supplier - never thought it could be as easy . Now , I'm just trying to summon enough courage to change dual fuel people E.ON . But somehow I really don't think it will be . I tried the NFU at Stoneleigh some time back with this in mind , but all I got was a seemingly bored dis- interested youth , and I quickly got discouraged . when I have a bit more patience , I might try again . But ATM , I'll stick , and rest on my success. I'd be very interested to hear of anybody who's done the swap successfully for fuel to the NFU. though .
