Giving a bitch estrumate

Hello,
Does anyone know if it’s possible to estrumate a collie bitch to terminate early pregnancy as in sheep and cattle? My bitch got accidentally caught. Vets charged a small fortune for the last jab when this happened a few years ago (can’t remember what that was called). But seeing as I’ve got estrumate in the fridge....

No idea, bur certainly wouldn’t chance it, are you totally reliant on her for day yo day work? She will work to within 2 weeks of whelping

No. It’s a different hormone they need. Giving prostaglandin to dogs can have really nasty side effects. Don’t do it.

Could be wrong but don’t think it’s meant to be left on farm.

It’s a grey area. Some vets will with a signed consent / disclaimer form from the farmer. Using it against what’s it’s prescribed from would definitely mean that a farmer wouldn’t get it again.

My old bitch caught the dog (he somehow jumped into her run the bugger). I took her to the vets and they gave her Mismate. A few weeks later she was very unwell, she hadn't cleansed properly from the mismate and it caused a infection. Cost a bomb to put her right. Wish I had been told how much safer(and cheaper) it would've been to have her spayed instead
