Glas Tir Entry penalties - anyone else had this?

I just logged on to my RPW online account to see if there was any news about Glas Tir Advanced payments (supposed to be end of Jan) and found 3 new mails dated 30/1/17. Now bear in mind I have had no email/written notification of these mails so had no way to know they were there. The mails inform me of a penalty for not doing something I completed almost 2 years ago as part of Glas Tir Entry, and for failing to respond to a reminder to inform them when I had done this work. I have never had a reminder.

I have never been asked for this information before, did all the capital works well within the specified date, and now here we go with financial penalties for not ticking a box on a form I never knew existed and have never been made aware off.

It was only putting up 5 bird boxes and about 50 metres of fencing on a field corner.

Anyone else had this?

Anyone know where I stand?

They seem to be getting into more and more of a muddle judging by my experiences.
8% penalty but won't tell me why. CW claim in in November and no reaction.
First GA payment in Feb, 2nd in March, 3rd in April, last year in May. Final payment in June?

im in the same boat as you but for entry level not advanced I had to say I was going to appeal to them and send invoices for capital works in to prove I bought products for fencing and hedging before cut of date and had a form from them to say what date I finish work so hopefully that will do it :scratchhead:

Mine is for Entry level too. I have done the GT Advanced claims with no problems. My issue is I wasn't aware that we needed to do one for the entry scheme since we were not paid directly for the capital works like under Tir Gofal or GTA. And I have been into my online correspondence and looked back through them until 2013 and there was never a letter from them requesting the form before the deadline, or any other reminders of any sort, even though they say they sent one. Invoices for the hedging materials and plants won't be an issue. Plus, if they care to send out anyone with half a brain it will be pretty obvious that the hedge has been established for the past 2 years already

I think they have dropped a bollock cos the first years of the glastir they sent out forms for capital works but after a few years they forgot to say to us that you had to ask for a form :banghead: I got a friend in the welsh office and said their is a lot in the same boat and got a good chance of winning the appeal if doing what I said before

Well the letter they sent says "we previously wrote to inform you that you have yet to confirm the completion of your Glastir Entry Capital Works...."

Having gone back through 4 years of online correspondence I have failed to find this letter. So it would appear that either they didn't send it, or else their system is not fit for purpose.

I found a form online the other day too, asking me to fill in the dates when all my GE capital works were completed (as we've just finished the 2 yrs you have to do it). Previously I thought you just had to enter it in the Glastir diary so they can check if necessary. Perhaps they've just realised they weren't duplicating enough paperwork?:banghead:

It mentioned in the accompanying letter, that if I don't respond by Feb 17th, they will assume I haven't completed the works and I may (will) incur a penalty. No way to do it online though, has to be printed out, completed and posted, which has been this morning's job.

Does anyone know when glastir entry is being paid for 2016?
Had 2015's in January 2016 so expecting it any time but as it's our last year wondered if there was any hold up.

Left it this year because of problems like you mention, I had half the field suddenly turn into a rocky outcrop, " I round baled it and left the bales out to make a point, it's all grass " no one would listen and like you say the computer system doesn't seem to send letters for important things like this!

If you are nfu/fuw/cla members get onto your union to fight your case. They will gladly help out and your info will help them gather evidence if this is a regular occurence as it seems to be.

Thanks, I'm in the tractor so kind of misread your post. Just assumed it was glastir advanced and thought they might pay the entry to everyone at a similar time. Ours seems later each year too so I guess I'll just sit tight. Cheers.

Well I have sent off my appeal with copies of invoices for the capital works. Not exactly much since it was only 100m of hedging and 5 bat boxes, But still.

On a completely different but related note. I have just been on the RPW website to check for new messages and noted a new tab which says something like "accept contracts"> Never seen it before. Not highlighted or bought to my attention in any way whatsoever. Never had a message about it. So clicked on it and there are 2 contract declarations for GT Entry and GT advanced that must be accepted before the end of February or you are out of the scheme.....
Duly accepted

I urge everyone with a Glastir contract to check your RPW sides now
