Good grazing cover crops

Personally I think it is to late to plant turnips so normally switch to mustard with tillage radish interval mix . What else is good to graze? Store lambs ? Thanks JB

Winter oats get going in the spring but spring oats will go well into the autumn. Add some radish and big seeded pulses and you have a three way mix.

Are there any considerations for the following crop?

spring oats don't stand a frost though

Mustard is no good for anything but holding condition on fit ewes. Never found lambs do well.
That's interesting, I've always got on very well with mustard for fattening lambs 🤷‍♂️

I've our stores grazing down some finished nectar pollen mix... but I probably need 1000 more to get it down before I can drill wheat on it! I'm not sure about putting breeding ewes on it pre-tupping but I am now reading red clover is not bad for ewes after all.... it has little to no red in it anyway, its crimson clover, white clover, phacilia and vetch. Not sure what 3 weeks on that followed by 3 weeks on grass will do to ewe fertility or am I over thinking it. Rest the grass and bung everything together on there for the next 3 weeks? I will have about 40ac of this available to graze from 1st to 30th September next year, open to offers...
