GOOD NEWS FOR SCOTTISH FARMERS!

It has emerged the SNP want to keep farm subsidies at "current levels" after 2020 spokesman Calum Kerr has revealed, this will give a bit more confidence to our beef and lamb producers in the face of unknown trade deals, there could be a different story south of the border!

Defra has also said it will want to reward farmers who look after the environment so it would seem the more land you have the more you will be rewarded? many farmers renting land could soon see themselves competing with set aside payments and government wildlife schemes??

Whatever your political views, at least the Scottish government is trying to draw a line, all be it in the sand.

Up here we have free nhs prescriptions, few eye tests, children get free spectacles, university education is free of fees......

And, unlike South of the border, there's no plans to privatise hospital care.

Scottish farmers receive the lowest level of subsidy for both pillar one and pillar two of anywhere in the European Union.

The Scottish livestock and grain sectors are what allows the creation of meat and whisky that regarded as the best in the world.

It would be a particularly short sighted government that did not seek to protect such an internationally renowned industry.

I don't live in Scotland, but I would put very little faith or confidence in a politicians p1ss, wind and puffed chest posturing.

Glad you are pleased.

Much more confidence in our leaders in Holyrood, then those clueless idiots in Westminster.

Although the the opposition in Holyrood is pee poor and clearly well out of their depths.
