At least the slimy git has done something useful in his career then.(y)
On the long list of atrocious tossers who have held the Ag portfolio in the UK Gove takes some beating. Himself and Packham should be dragged through the streets and then publicly flogged for their sins Funny enough listening to the creator of Spitting Image a while back on radio describing the fun he could have with todays politicans goves name came up a lot i think he said the gove puppet would probably have to be portrayed in bed with two hookers!!!!!!!!!

Ok. Let’s assume May has had enough and chucks in the towel, who’s the next cab on the rank?
No idea atm,for a brexiteer to get it he will have to be liked by most of the brexit supporters so as to not split the vote and make sure they get on the ballot paper for the grassroots members.one who stands out is Dominic rabb,he doesn’t seem to have many enemies on the brexit side so they could unite behind him

David Davis would still be my choice.
Throughout this whole mess, he is the only one that continues to make sense of it all to me. Yes, he resigned after the Chequers fiasco and who can blame him for not wanting to be part of TM's dreadful plan then?

I've just read his article in today's Sunday Times and what he says makes perfect sense to me and is exactly what my thoughts are:

That’s unusual. A Brexiteer actually admitting that there wouldn’t be a clear majority for leave if we had a second referendum. Half the trouble is that the Country, and Parliament, is still evenly split in all directions, so little hope of getting a consensus for his plan or any other.:(

But the leave voters would have two choices so their vote would be split, of course Remain would win if that was the case.

Balanced as ever.

Shame the photo isn't from the UK

Which just re-enforces the need to respect UK welfare standards and food labelling

If they really cared for the animals as much as they claim they do, they'd be pushing for all products sold in UK to be produced to UK standards.

The fact that they use non-UK photos and don't make it clear that UK standards are different illustrates to me that all they are interested in is peddling their agenda/own profile, rather than the cause they claim to represent.

You can have RSPCA Freedom Food, Organic, Soil Association, Red Tractor whatever you want.....but all that just confuses the shopper. Set up a single UK standard that's acceptable to the general public....suppliers take it or leave it. Simples! Everyone knows where they stand.

Oh....or the elephant in the room.....maybe people don't care how their food is produced!!

Packham's tweet "would you really buy sausages made from pigs kept here?" - the likelihood is 80% of people reading that tweet most likely have. So the answer to that is a resounding YES. Were they happy when they bought those sausages....YES! They chose to put them in their basket our of all the other sausages on the shelf, nobody made them. They can't shift the blame to others - ignorance is really no excuse.

People seem to care about price first, taste second, anything else doesn't really matter.

So much in this debate is based upon denial and hypocrisy.....as Piers Morgan points out. People are just kidding themselves about moral issues to make them feel better.
