Grant for silage pit?

On last nights Welsh channel 4
farming one of the presenters has put in a new silage pit and she qualified for a grant to help
with cost . When laying the base the guys wellington was in the concrete quite a few inches so cost of concrete must be substantial
I have never understood grants
I know a number of local sheds put up by the firm I worked for in the early 80's have not been used for a number of years
Yet all the shed builders are busy especially the chicken shed makers
Can't work it out at all

Probably the SPG grant? 40% and max of £50k grant. Twas a good looking silage clamp may I add
