Not sure that a big combine can produce seed !!

may be spread what is there around
1 plant per acre soon builds up in an continuous autumn planted situation

we sorted it 25 years ago with antlantis and spring crops
there is ryegrass and ryegrass our was s22 from the 1970s where a field was 2 blocks with a 1 m gap

Our worst blackgrass by far is on a contract farm where the landowner decided to put half into an annual stubble fallow in countryside stewardship. It all headed and ran to seed extremely early last spring.
I think it’s made the problem ten times worse.

the rest of of the wheat is a mixed bag but I’m moderately happy.

a lot in the spring crops, will be running the inter row hoe through them all.

it doesn’t get any easier and it’s probably the main thing that really ruins farming for me, it’s such a nightmare. I hate thinking about it and looking at it. It can really make you feel like a failure sometimes even when it’s not too bad.

I don't think the BG should produce viable seed before the May 15th spray day.........
Feldspar might know.

Excellent post... think thats how many feel around here and nobody talks about it much. I think I'll also run our hoe through the spring barley, will need the row spacing adjusting but if i don't do it we'll need to spray areas off which will easily be the same value as the hoe. (With inputs as they are!)

Chatting to another neighbour the other night in HQ. Feb drilled barley with a pre em. He has nuked the crop because of all the rain. Getting harder and harder.
