Reader at backend didn’t work. Photo attached what do I do? Very short on grass and extra cows so need it back ASAP ideally start of May. Work on a 21 day rotation. Just a complete disaster.

I think rape is the quickest/easiest to grow, but I have been told mustard will produce bulk quite quickly.

what about feeding bales on it to save some grass elsewhere?

That’s what I was hoping for. Chain Harrow before or after sowing?

Broadcast some westerwolds on it and roll.

Spray off and get someone in to either DD some brassicas or some fast growing grasses.
Test for lime status

Both would be best.

Chain harrow, Westerwolds at 15kg/acre, roll, you should have something to graze in 6 - 8 weeks.

Ph 5.8, granular like was bought for it but not got it on. Hoping not to have to spray it. Chickweed seems to be only weed. Would it be too risky to sow then spray once established?
Can westerwolds etc be sown now? Ground temp just starting to creep up over 5 here now.

Early enough for grass wait for it to warm up a bit.
Cultivate lightly first I’d be spraying it off first really to help clean it up.

Westerwolds will germinate at 3dC but bear in mind there is two more cold spells forecast, any frost will put pay to any newly emerged seedlings.

Spring planted IRG and Red Clover would give you a couple years to consider your options.
