No pest problems yet or ryegrass issues. Our leys are not to heavy in ryegrass and also trying to come out of grass without a winter cereals gives you multiple times to kill any problems.A long rotation is high up the list for control measures
Do you find a ryegrass or grassland pest problem afterwards?
It is probably the best thing for a rotation but is not without its issues, the main one being an exit strategy! They say you get the best yield improvement in the second and third year after grass so wheat in that slot would work well.I'm finding that grass ley is sucking the ground so dry I can't plough it out until it gets damp in October. And it's not kind enough to nip over with the combi to drill. And the decaying turf gives wheat abhatd time if min till. So I'm thinking of putting winter beans in before wheat.....
Thanks. I've used them in the past for home saved seed testing. They don't list herbicide resistance testing though.Used these this spring. https://www.sgs.co.uk/en-gb/campaigns/seed-and-grain-analysis-in-driffield
