Grazing vineyards

Been offered some grazing over the winter in a vineyard, anyone done this before. The sheep will be out before the vines bud in the spring.

Any thoughts very welcome

watch for bark stripping and rubbing wires and posts ! could be expensive mistake , otherwise good idea , would keep a low stocking rate though

Shropshire sheep or forget harvesting grapes.
For some reason these ones don't eat bark, the rest do.

We done it one spring.
It's actually very common on the continent supposedly.
The owner took.full.responsibility for any damage caused by the sheep.
They didn't strip any bark, but they can nip buds off, which is used to clear low growth .
As long as you're indemnified by the owner why not?

Seen it done in NZ ...i think with Romney ewes..

If it's in herts or Sussex then I would say definitely don't bother it's awful.... Then quietly ask for the phone number.

If it's outside this area I would say we graze loads of it every year and it's no problem - you will need very good dogs though!!
