Gregoire Besson ploughs, any good? Good and bad points?

Hi folks, we runKV’ plough, thinking of swapping and I’ve just spotted a decent Gregoire Besson HRPWB7. Just wondering what experiences you folks have had with a Gregoire Besson?
Good and bad point over KV?

I always got on well with mine, not much adjustment though. Spares can be pricey and wearing parts an be harder to source than other brands but a very well built plough

We run two bessons a 1997rb47 5f and 2001 rb7 6f and a 2010 kv ld 6f. Besson skimmer design is miles better does not block up like the ones fitted to our kv ld does in chopped straw long stubble/grass. kv No28 board is much better than the no5 and ta8 on the bessons. Frames are very good on bessons but headstocks turnover pins crack and you can pull the headstock of frame. Had two pins replaced over the years will be a pain now we cant take them to besson todo. The ram which closes the frame up to turnover is prone to breaking pins and eating bearings. Transport position works much better on kv than besson. Im the only person with patience to use the kv because of the blocking between skimmer and leg. Everyone else uses the bessons I think both are good manufactures and would buy another of either but do fancy a Lemken but always seem to much money compared to a besson or kv. Re wearing metal I cant stand the besson genuine points with three holes as the down time changing is a right pain. Have found genuine metal to be good and wear well comparable to genuine kv. I have also used pananglia wearing metal which has been good also especially the tungsten points.

we have had major headstock issues with a bee son plough! although at 7 furrow fully mounted it takes a bit of stick
We managed to shear the shaft on the headstock that the plough turn around! Was ridiculously expensive to repair on a relatively young plough that hadn’t done a huge amount of work!
Spoke to my dealer about some tines on another Besson cultivator we have and was told that they would take a minimum of 3 weeks to appear with us! I’m not convinced parts supply is what it used to be!

Apparently Lemken won’t sell German farmers 7f fully mounted ploughs because they care too much about their tractors, they only sell them to British farmers. Too much weight.
