Guttler press bearing woes

I have a Weaving Subdisc 4m folding with two 2 metre Guttler presses mounted on the back sitting on 50mm shafts

Ever since I have had the thing(2012) it knocks out 1 of the four bearings very regularly (literally every 50hr) without any signs of anything ever being wrong

The normal cause of failure is the bearing seals come out. We are careful not to over grease. Probably 2 shots of standard red grease every 50hrs as per the manufacturer's (Guttler [Wox Agri] and Weaving's) recommendations

Any of the 4 bearings can fail spread over the two shafts. Both shafts are straight and true and there is not much weight on them (probably 1 tonne per shaft [0.5tonne/bearing]). There are also no lateral forces on them, just the downward force in work.

I have tried several different quality bearing makes, double sealed, triple sealed, both metal and rubber sealed, all to no avail.

Anyone else had such a simple but seemingly incurable problem like this. It is annoying as hell with the down time each time. Is this kind of press normally reliable ?

To me it just needs heavier bearings, of course without changing the shaft this is not possible. However both Weaving and Wox Agri (Guttler import agent) say they have not heard of such problems with such a set up

I believe I am using the best grease possible, red tacky grease - Agriforce EP2 with Lithium. Is this stuff any good, although I guess if it wasnt the seals would not be the first thing to break up ?

I have a 3m subdisc bought second hand from weaving. This will be my third season with no bearing issues. 2 or 3 pumps of standard ep2 every 50 acres in guttler bearings. The nature of the subdisc does mean that the discs try to pull the implement sideways which I would guess is causing your problem. I have a dowdeswell powerharrow which eats crumbler bar bearings for no apparent reason too, but now I grease it less it seems to last better. Rhp bearings too.

3m sub disc here and had it years, only replaced one bearing so far, greased occasionally. Seems odd as your only 2m wide and I assume the same bearings used for the 3m. Could you not get a larger bearing and sleeve the shaft?? But then it shouldnt be doing that anyway, seems very odd and as you say everything if true, it shouldnt matter greatly if it wasnt as the plummer block bearings would cope with any missalignment.
