On some thick crops of 6row hybrid barley the ear is ripe and will brattle over but the straw is still green, if you don’t use glyphosate and wait for the straw to ripen natural a lot of the heads fall on the ground

Yup. Laid bits, secondary tillers, tramlines, old hedge lines etc.

I don't think I have ever regretted doing it.

I would say early by a bit (week?) but guess they are on some brash and I suspect they have sprayed off as a lot to cut. All the other WB I have seen is still a bit "fluffy" in the tramlines but reckon most will be into it next week if it stays dry. WW Skyfall starting to turn but still a long way off, reckon 4 weeks before we start here.

WB already cut north of Watton in Norfolk,on the edge of the Brecks. Was also advised that some Oilseed Rape has been cut around Wisbech area. As to yields no info as yet ?
