Finnished cutting ww here today , yield wise a real mixed bag some fields as low as 6 t/ha some up to 13.5 t/ha . Long and short of it is the nice land that drilled well early on was good and the heavier land that was mauled in late was crap . One thing this year though is even our worst blackgrass land is as clean as a whistle.

Lots of osr to cut but it's still not ripe!

Did they get any in before the weather turned, I'm sure they will have. Been on the last 2 days and must say I am very pleasantly surprised.

Zyatt first wheat probably not quite 4t/ac, Mascani oats about 2.75t/ac which I am happy after the way it looked after storm Dennis in February

Spring barley is doing 6.5-7.5t/ha. We grew a big chunk of high N distilling fairing which is all on spec so that will pay really well.
There is a lot of ergot about though in all 3 varieties we grow.

Wheat followed barley at 2.5ton/acre Crusoe with good protein and hagberg

My wife is from the Thirsk / Northallerton / Bedale area and I would happily want to farm in that area.

Non irrigated small patches under 5 t/h

Nelson milling wheat on very light soil (should be permanently in veg production) 2.36t/ac. Best looking grain I’ve ever seen though if you remove the green bits. Bushel 78-80.

Crusoe milling wheat on similar soil. 2.8t/ac. Bushel 74-76. Av moisture 18% so bushel will rise nicely.

To much secondary regrowth so chopped the straw but there wasn’t much of it. At a guess 0.5t/acre looking at the bit we swathed before turning the chopper on.
