Jan Dick is a farmer’s wife and researcher; with colleagues in UK and around Europe, she has designed a survey to allow farmers across the UK from all sectors to give their views on the current state and future direction of farming (tick box options with space to add what they missed!).
The survey is anonymous so you can say what you feel and no one can tell it was you. The data will give farmers a scientifically robust voice and provide policy makers and those that operationalise policy (government agencies) grounded data.
So if you want your farming system represented and your opinion heard please follow this link https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1...lRX9RwQvSIZ89Ec11P-JATmw/viewform?usp=sf_link
No question is compulsory so you can skim through all questions and see everything before providing your input. Sector details are requested e.g. beef, sheep or cereal but no detail of numbers/yield; this is to allow the views of different sectors to be analysed separately if sufficient farmers respond for that sector; i.e. is the situation in the dairy sector the same as cereal sector for example.
Only the first part of your postcode (3-4 characters) is requested to enable clear evidence of geographical spread of respondents (agriculture policy different across regions of UK) and allow correlation with government statistics e.g. COVID 19 incidence.

Or contact Jan Dick [email protected] 0131 445 8578 for a paper copy or further explanation.
[Moderator note. Having spoken with Jan, I would urge TFFers to kindly support this research. The more information is submitted from individuals, the more meaningful the data and message will be about the impact of Covid-19. I had this survey via the Galloway Cattle Society and I understand 50 organisations have been approached so far. The most replies received so far are from Northern Ireland. I've said I'm confident that the large and diverse membership in TFF can give a true picture of how Covid has impacted you as well as your business. Thanks for your time JP1 Jeremy for The Farming Forum]
