Lads that were trying to move some bales for a neighbour , were also having a bit of a day.
I went and towed them both out. We had a hell of a lot of rain last night and a very heavy storm just before this happened.
Bear in mind this is light Shropshire land!!

According the awful report in the local rag "Lorry & trailer overturn"......

"Traffic is building on the road and around the area as officers deal with the overturned vehicle.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We were called at 11.30am to reports of a tractor that had shed its load and tipped onto it's side.

"It was carrying 10 tonnes of soya that leaked onto the ground."

I’ve never know winter oats to have so many secondary tillers, green as grass. Spoiling the sample and increasing the moisture so much, that I’ve had to spray them off. Not much fun with a low tractor , but couldn’t see any alternative. Will have to be patient with them now.

You have to laugh at the traffic reports that always say it’s hay, when usually it’s straw. And the other day the lad on radio 2, reported hay barrels on the road .

Having a bit of a day here. I was roofing a shed on Sunday afternoon when one of the sheets slipped. I managed to stop it reaching the ground by grabbing it with my hand. Big mistake, I saw I had a big V shaped cut on the base of my index finger. It was bleeding so I lifted the flap of skin and could the bone underneath so I thought it would need fixed at A&E, so I get the missus to drive me in. Got through triage when the nurse realised I was Farmer and that it would not be a small cut. The doctor saw me about half an hour later, look at the hand sent me for an Xray and when I came back from there said it was OK. he then asked me to bend the finger and it would not move. I was telling it to move but no action.
He told me the tendon was cut and would need surgery. He went to the phone made a few calls and then asked me if 11.15am Monday at the Ulster hospital was suitable.
I arrive there half hour early and I am seen straigt away. doctor looks at my hand and says I can do that this afternoon. I spent 2 hours in A&E on Sunday and at 3.15pm on Monday I was in the operating theatre.
I have 12 weeks of physio to do and wear a splint for 8 weeks and worse of all not allowed to drive and all because I was not wearing gloves when handling box section roofing sheets.
On the plus side the NHS works in spite of my stupidity.
The physio told me no driving and for you farmers that means nothing with tyres or tracks and no wrestling with sheep, calving cows or any other farming activities. So I have to sit on my behind for weeks.
