What is a guideline price for woodchip?
I think I had seen somewhere £25/ton for bulk lorry walking floor I think it was artic not 8 wheeler but I think it was wood shavings/sawdust rather than woodchip.

as an example I'm using 18 bags of shavings twice per week to bed down 30 stores, they are eating 1 4ft round bale of straw per week but I reckon I would have been putting 2 bales in if I just let them pull at the bale and bed on it so my rough guess is 36 bags shavings = 4ft round bale not bad when mine are free but to collect guess each bag at 25kg? large bags that split when dig fingers in but not packed like proper shavings.

at my reckoning 36x25kg= 900kg @25/ton = 22.50 shavings per week so straw would be cheeper than shavings unless its above 22.50 per bale.

another question I have 70 4ft rounds to fetch but at "market price" says hell just look in guardian at the time whats anyones opinion how much 4ft rounds are worth?

I have 100 4 foot round hay bales. Made very well in July, never rained on. From a previously arable field. Also 60 4 foot round silage from the same field. I was going to sell it to our livery business, but the planners shut us down when we tried to go legitimate. Leicester. Open to offers. Cheers
