Yes, they are great. Give flexibility compared to a shed they are cheap.
mine have done five or six years and are as good as new

Also interested in some of these. How much roughly do they cost each? Are they a faff to put onto the bale?

19mm socket on the battery drill, it depends what you mean by faff.
yes it takes a little time, but significantly less than the alternatives.
in the winter it’s a doddle. No idea of price now when I bought mine they were £55 each they should last well over 10 years. One cap does 5 bales so about £1 a bale.

They sound great. Any problems in windy weather? The straw would be stacked on quite an exposed site up here.

The screws that hold the caps on are very good, but if you get a string missing they can’t get a good hold.
every year I threaten to put a ratchet strap on the end one, never do. one cap blew off last year ripped all the screws out, quite easy to replace, hadn’t lost one for several years before that.
