Serious crop! What sort of climate/rainfall etc does it need to grow?
Any idea what mower it is? NH 316?

I believe it is a 316 and I only know this from the comments on YouTube. If you click the title of the video it takes you to YT full site so you can scroll down and see the comments (y)

I tried to get some to go in a diverse cover crop for grazing, but couldn't get it here.
There are sorghums available for bird cover crops but not the hybrid grazing type like shown there.

We planted it , makes quick high energy feed source , is a warm season grass it likes heat and moisture although it will do quite well on less than ideal rainfall
Properly managed ie cutting when 36 to 40 inches tall is ideal for maximum feed quality, you can get about 3 good cuts in the course of a summer depending on your growing season. We would bale and wrap it , good source of digestible fiber as well
Key to multiple cuts is leaving a minimum of 4 in stubble also a shot of slurry after each cut gets it a N boost too

Does it still have the potential toxicity issues if grazed a straight sorghum has ?
Reduced risk I presume.

Iirc still somewhat of a risk, always were told to wait a bit to harvest if it rained after a dry spell or wait a bit to harvest after a frost
@Kiwi Pete is the guru on this subject (y)
Dunno about that!

They seem to graze it OK but as you say, young growth can be an issue with HCN (prussic acid, cyanide) toxicity so some of them really need to be left til there is no new growth, before grazing. And frost/drought stress can also give problems.
:)
Good looking crop though
