Heat recovery chilling milk with WHRLflo

They are very common in the States, especially on large dairies that load milk directly into tankers. Some smaller dairies also have them hooked up to their bulk tanks, but not as commonly.
 
I used to scan and AI on a farm that had a simple home built system.
Two smallish old milk vats well insulated with a heat exchanger between them. One was cold and one was hot. The cold one was used in the milk cooler to cool the milk right down low. The hot one was piped to the cylinder so that less power was needed for wash down water.
The cold one was also a good spot to keep beers :sneaky:;)

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.
