Hi I’m looking for hedge cutter flail shackles but I’m being quoted silly prices, what’s so special about them as opposed to normal d shackles ? Where could I source some from without being shafted?

We had a new kuhn mower fitted with shackles , brilliant mower but you needed a bag of shackles with you all the time . Have now changed it to cast boots it’s loads better .

I’ve not the ability to fit cast boots to this rotor, but I’m being quoted 9-12 a shackle multiply that by 30 and it gets dear quick.

I quite agree but if I’m looking to source some and cut out the middle man what makes them so special - metallurgically wise.
Maybe forged and individually load tested, like proper certified lifting shackles which are quite pricey too. I'd hope so, going at those speeds
