Does anyone have any experience of the clear plastic window guards, I’ve always thought they must scratch easily or be a nightmare if it’s raining. Any alternative suggestions?

Yeah.. don't use one 🤷

Jokes aside, my old man cuts hedges on about 3000 acres a year and has yet to have a window break.. probably just jinxed that now though.

See some round there that use a small hole steel mesh, on a basic box section frame.

Yea the plastic guards they re not great. Only ever wash with soapy water and a sponge but they still get marked in time.
As you say , impair visibility in the rain and you cant put a wiper on them. I ran for years with nothing but eventually luck ran out and smashed a door. Got door and side window plastics after that but had to remove the window one as l could see nothing. Left the one on the door though and have learnt to put up with it. Could not get used to window one so thats in the bin.
Steel grilles give me headaches & dizziness so theyre out too.
They do work in that l ve had plenty of clatters off the door one and its still intact. Will have to continue chancing the window with no protection. Never broke a side window yet thankfully.

Interestingly we have an APG one and really rate only had it 18months but no problems with scratching hazing over etc. It’s poly carbonate which should make it more scratch resistant. Give them a call worth a chat
